Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  52  عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ حِمَارٍ أَخِىْ بَنِىْ مُجَاشِعِ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللهَ أَوْحَى إِلَىَّ أَنْ تَوَاضَعُوْا حَتّى لاَ يَفْخَرَ أَحَدٌ عَلىٰ أَحَدٍ ، وَلاَ يَبْغِى أَحَدٌ عَلىٰ عَحَدٍ . ( وهو جزء من الحديث ) (رواه مسلم ، باب الصفات التى يعرف بها فى الدنيا ................. ، رقم : )
 
Nawwas ibn Sam'an Al-Ansari Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates: I asked Rasullullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam about righteousness and sin. He replied: righteousness is good character, and sin is that which revolves in your heart about which you do not want people to know. (Muslim)

Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  53  عَنْ عُمَرَ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُوْلُ مَنْ تَوَاضَعَ لِلهِ رَفَعَهُ اللهُ ، فَهُوَ فِىْ نَفْسِهِ صَغِيْرٌ وَفِىْ أَعْيُنِ النَّاسِ عَظِيْمٌ ، وَمَنْ تَكَبَّرَ وَضَعَهُ اللهُ ، فَهُوَ فِىْ أَعْيُنِ النَّاسِ صَغِيْرٌ وَفِىْ نَفْسِهِ كَبِيْرٌ حَتّى لَهُوَ أَهْوَنُ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ كَلْبٍ أَوْ خِنْزِيْرٍ . ( رواه البيهقى فى شعب الا يمان : )
 
Makhul Rahimahullah narrates that Rasullullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: The believers are very soft and lenient, like an obedient camel which when led follows and when made to sit on a rock, does so obediently. (Tirmidhi, Mishkat-uI-Masabih)

Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  54  عَنْ عَبْدِاللهِ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِىِّ ﷺ قَالَ : لاَ يَدْ خُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مَنْ كَانَ فِىْ قَلْبِهِ مِثْقَالُ ذَرَّةٍ مِنْ كِبْرٍ . ( رواه مسلم ، باب تحريم الكبر وبيانه ، رقم : )
 
Abdullah ibn Mas'ud Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates that Rasullullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: Shall I not inform you about the person who is forbidden from the Fire and for whom the Fire is forbidden? Anyone who is close to people, soft and lenient. (Tirmidhi)

Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  55  عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُوْلُ مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَتَمَثَّلَ لَهُ الرِّ جَالُ قِيَامًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ . ( رواه التر مذى وقال : هذاحديث حسن ، باب ماجاءفى كراهية قيام الر جل للر جا ، رقم : )
 
Iyyad' ibn Himar Radiyallahu 'anhu, of Bani Mujashi' narrates that Rasullullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam in a Hadith Qudsi said: Indeed, Allah has revealed to me that you should show humility to the extent that neither one considers himself superior to others, nor oppresses others. (Muslim)

Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  56  عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : لَمْ يَكُنْ شَخْصٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِمْ مِنْ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ : وَكَانُوْا إِذَا رَأَوْهُ لَمْ يَقُوْمُوْا لِمَ يَقُوْمُوْا لِمَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ مِنْ كَرَاهِيَتِهِ لِذٰلِكَ . ( رواه التر مذى وقال : هذا حديث حسن صحيح غريب ، باب ماجاء فى كراهية قيام الر جن للرجل ، رقم : )
 
Umar Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates: I heard Rasullullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam saying: Whoever humbles himself for the sake of Allah, Allah will exalt him; as a result of that he considers himself small, yet in the eyes of people he becomes great. But he who is arrogant, Allah abases him; and he becomes small in the eyes of people, although he considers himself great to the extent that people consider him to be worse than a dog or a pig. (Baihaqi)

Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  57  عَنْ أَبِى الدَّرْدَاءِ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُوْلُ : مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ يُصَابُ بِشَىْءٍ فِىْ جَسَدِهِ فَيَتَصَدَّقُ بِهِ إِلاَّ رَفَعَهُ اللهُ بِهِ دَرَجَةً وَحَطَّ عَنْهُ بِهِ خَطِيْئَةً . ( رواه التر مذى وقال هذا حديث غريب ، باب ماجاءفى العفو ، رقم : )
 
Abdullah ibn Mas'ud Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates that Nabi Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: He will not enter into Paradise who has the smallest particle of arrogance in his heart. (Muslim)

Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  58  عَنْ جَوْدَانَ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنِ اعْتَذَرَ إلىٰ أَخِيْهِ بِمَعْذِرَةٍ ، فَلَمْ يَقْبَلْهَا ، كَانَ عَلَيْهِ مَثْلُ خَطِيْئَةِ صَاحِبِ مَكْسٍ . ( رواه ابن ماجا باب المعادير ، رقم : )
 
Mu'awiyah Rad'iyallahu 'anhu narrates: I heard Rasullullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam saying: He who likes that people should stand up for him in respect, let him make his abode in Hell. (Tirmidhi)

Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  59  عَنْ أَبِىْ هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مُوْسَى بْنِ عِمْرَانَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ يَارَبِّ ! مَنْ أَعَزُّ عِبَادِكَ عِنْدَكَ ؟ قَالَ : مَنْ إِذَا قَدَرَ غَفَرَ . ( رواه البيهقى فى شعب الا يمان : )
 
Anas Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates that none was dearer to the Sahabah than Rasullullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, yet when they saw him, they did not stand up, knowing his dislike for this. (Tirmidhi)

Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  60  عَنْ عَبْدِاللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِىِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ : يَارَسُوْلَ اللهِ! كَمْ أَعْفُوْعَنِ الْخَادِمِ ؟ فَصَمَتَ عَنْهُ النَّبِىُّ ﷺ ثُمَّ قَالَ : يَا رَسُوْلَ اللهِ ! كَمْ أَعْفُوْ عَنِ الْخَادِمِ ؟ قَالَ : كُلَّ يَوْمٍ سَبْعِيْنَ مَرَّةً . ( رواه التر مذى وقال : هذا حديث حسن غريب ، باب ماجاءفى العفو عن الخادم ، رقم : )
 
Abu Darda' Radiyallahu anhu narrates: I heard Rasullullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam saying: No one suffers any bodily injury, yet forgives this, except that Allah raises his rank by a degree and removes a sin from him. (Tirmidhi)

Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  61  عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ يَقُوْلُ : إِنَّ رَجُلاً كَانَ فِيْمَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ أَتَاهُ الْمَلَكُ لِيَقْبِضَ رُوْحَهُ فَقِيْلَ لَهُ : هَلْ عَمِلْتَ مِنْ خَيْرٍ ؟ قَالَ : مَا أَعْلَمُ ، قِيْلَ لَهُ : انْظُرْ ، قَالَ : مَا أَعْلَمُ شَيْئًا غَيْرَ أَنِّىْ كُنْتُ أُبَايِعُ النَّاسَ فِى الدُّنْيَا وَأُجَازِيْهِمْ فَأُنْظِرُ الْمُوْسِرَ وَأَتَجَاوَزُ عَنِ الْمُعْسِرِ ، فَأَدْخَلَهُ اللهُ الْجَنَّةَ . ( رواه البخارى ، باب ماذكر عن بنى اسرائيل ، رقم : )
 
Jawdan Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates that Rasullullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: If anyone offers an excuse to his Muslim brother and he does not accept the excuse, then he becomes guilty of a sin like that of an unjust tax collector. (ibn Majah)

Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  62  عَنْ أبِىْ قَتَادَةَ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُوْلُ : مَنْ سَرَّهُ يُنْجِيَهُ اللهُ مِنْ كُرَبِ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ فَلْيُنْفِّسْ عَنْ مُعْسِرٍ أَوْيَضَعْ عَنْهُ . ( رواه مسلم ، باب فضل انظار المعسر ..... ، رقم : )
 
Abu Hurairah Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates that Rasullullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: Musa ibn 'Imran 'Alaihis Salam said: O my Rabb! Who is the most respectable slave to you? Allah the Almighty and Majestic replied: He who forgives, despite having the power to avenge. (Baihaqi)

Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  63  عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : خَدَمْتُ النَّبِىِّ ﷺ عَشْرَ سِنِيْنَ بِالْمَدِيْنَةِ وَأَنَا غُلاَمٌ لَيْسَ كُلُّ أَمْرِىْ كَمَا يَشْتَهِىْ صَاحِبِىْ أَنْ يَكُوْنَ عَلَيْهِ ، مَاقَالَ لِىْ فِيْهَا اُفٍّ قَطُّ ، وَمَاقَالَ لِىْ لِمَ فَعَلْتَ هٰذَا ، أَمْ أَلاَّ فَعَلْتَ هٰذَا. ( رواه ابوداؤد ، باب فى الحلم واخلاق النبى ﷺ ، رقم : )
 
Abdullah ibn 'Umar Radiyallahu 'anhuma narrates that a person came to Nabi Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam and asked: O Rasulallah! How many times may I forgive my servant? Nabi Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam remained silent. The man asked again: O Rasulallah! How many times may I forgive my servant? He replied: Everyday seventy times. (Tirmidhi)

Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  64  عَنْ أَبِىْ هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَجُلاً قَالَ لِلنَّبِىِّ ﷺ : أَوْ صِنِىْ ، قَالَ : لاَ تَغْضَبْ فَرَدَّدَ مِرَارً ، قَالَ : لاَ تَغْضَبْ . ( رواه البخارى ، باب الحذر من الغضب ، رقم : )
 
Hudhaifah Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates: I heard Rasullullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam saying: Indeed, there was a man before your time to whom an angel came to take his soul. It was said to him: Did you do anything good? He replied: I do not know. It was said: Recollect! He said: I do not remember doing anything good, except that I used to do business with people in the world, and would grant the rich more time to pay back, and let off. the poor who were in constraints. At this Allah admitted him into Paradise. (Bukhari)

Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  65  عَنْ أَبِىْ هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ : لَيْسَ الشَّدِيْدُ بِالصُّرْعَةِ ، إِنَّمَا الشَّدِيْدُ الَّذِىْ يَمْلِكُ نَفْسَهُ عِنْدَ الْغَضَبِ . ( رواه البخارى ، باب الحذر من الغضب ، رقم : )
 
Abu Qatadah Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates: I heard Rasullullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam saying: If anyone likes that Allah should save him from the anxieties of the Day of Resurrection, he should grant respite (in paying back a loan) to one who is in constraints, or forgo the debt. (Muslim)

Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  66  عَنْ أَبِىْ ذَرٍّ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَنَا : إِذَا غَضِبَ أَحَدُ كَمْ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ فَلْيَجْلِسْ ، فَإِنْ ذَهَبَ عَنْهُ الْغَضَبُ وَإِلاَّ فَلْيَضْطَجِعْ . ( رواه ابوداؤد ، باب ما يقال عند الغضب ، رقم : )
 
Anas Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates: I served Rasullullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam for ten years in Medina. I was an adolescent, therefore all my services were not according to the desire of my master (because of my tender age, many lapses were committed during these ten years). However, he never said a word of displeasure to me; neither 'why did you do this?' nor 'why did you not do that?'. (Abu Dawud)

Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  67  عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا عَنِ النَّبِىِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : عَلِّمُوا وَبَشِّرُوْا وَلاَ تُعَسِّرُوا ، وَإِذَا غَضِبَ أَحَدُ كُمْ فَلْيَسْكُتْ . ( رواه احمد : )
 
Abu Hurairah Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates that a person requested Rasullullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam: Advise me. He said: Do not get angry. The man repeated this several times, and he replied: Do not get angry. (Bukhari)

Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  68  عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ الْغَضَبَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ وَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ خُلِقَ مِنَ النَّارِ ، وَإِنَّمَا تُطْفَأُ النَّارُ بِالْمَاءِ ، فَإِذَا غَضِبَ أَحَدُ كَمْ فَلْيَتَوَضَّاْ . ( رواه ابوداؤد ، باب ما يقال عند الغضب ، رقم : )
 
Abu Hurairah Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates that Rasullullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: The powerful is not he who knocks down others; undoubtedly the powerful is the one who controls himself in a fit of anger. (Bukhari)

Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  69  عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا تَجَرَّعَ عَبْدٌ جُرْعَةً أَفْضَلَ عِنْدَ اللهِ عَزَّوَجَلَّ مِنْ جُرْعَةِ غَيْظٍ يَكْظِمُهَا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ اللهِ تَعَالىٰ. ( رواه احمد : )
 
Abu Dhar Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates that Rasullullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam told us: When one of you become angry while standing, he should sit down. If his anger subsides, well and good; otherwise he should lie-down. (Abu Dawiid)

Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  70  عَنْ مُعَاذٍ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ : مَنْ كَظَمَ غَيْظًا وَهُوَ قَادِرٌ عَلىٰ أَنْ يُنَفِّذَهُ دَعَاهُ اللهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلىٰ رُؤُوْسِ الْخَلاَئِقِ حَتّى يُخَيِّرَهُ مِنْ أَىِّ الْحُوْرِ الْعِيْنِ شَاءَ . ( رواه ابوداؤد ، باب من كظيم غيظا ، رقم : )
 
Abdullah Ibn ' Abbas Radiyallahu 'anhuma narrates that Nabi Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: Teach religion to people, give them good tidings, do not make things difficult for them; and when anyone of you gets angry, he should remain silent. (Musnad Ahmad)

Excellence of Conduct  Hadith  71  عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِىَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُوْلَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ : مَنْ خَزَنَ لِسَانَهُ سَتَرَ اللهُ عَوْرَتَهُ وَمَنْ كَفَّ غَضَبَهُ كَفَّ اللهُ عَنْهُ عَذَابَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَمَنْ اعْتَذَرَ إِلَى اللهِ عَزَّوَجَلَّ قَبِلَ عُذْرَهُ . ( رواه البيهقى فى شعب الا يمان : )
 
Atiyah Radiyallahu 'anhu narrates that Rasullullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: Undoubtedly, anger comes from Shaitan. Indeed Shaitan is created from fire, and verily fire is extinguished with water. So if one of you becomes angry, he should perform Wudu. (Abu Dawud)
